Flip My Whip ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Flip My Whip mobile application and related website services, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information when you create an account, browse listings, contact sellers, upload listings, request verification, or use paid listing services:
- Account information such as your name, email address, phone number, and login details.
- Vehicle listing content such as car videos, photos, descriptions, price, location, make, model, odometer, and related listing details.
- Verification information, including information needed to assess seller identity or eligibility where verification is requested.
- Payment and transaction information for listing and promotion services. Full card details are handled by third-party payment providers and are not stored by Flip My Whip.
- Device, usage, diagnostic, and security information such as IP address, device type, app activity, crash information, and fraud-prevention signals.
- Location information that you provide or permit, including suburb, postcode, and state, to support relevant vehicle listings and search.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to operate and improve the marketplace, including to create accounts, publish and manage listings, show vehicle content, enable buyer enquiries, support seller verification, process listing payments, personalise app features, detect misuse, prevent fraud, provide customer support, and comply with legal obligations.
4. User Content and Marketplace Safety
Vehicle listings, profile information, and messages you submit may be used to provide the marketplace and help buyers and sellers communicate. We may review, restrict, remove, or preserve content where needed for safety, moderation, dispute handling, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
5. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to service providers who help operate the app, including cloud hosting, analytics, identity verification, communications, payment processing, security, and customer support providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to respond to lawful requests, or to prevent serious misuse of the marketplace.
6. Overseas Processing
Some providers may store or process information outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to work with reputable providers and protect information consistently with Australian privacy requirements.
7. Data Security and Retention
We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the app, maintain records, resolve disputes, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations. When information is no longer reasonably required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it where practicable.
8. Automated Tools
Flip My Whip may use automated rules or tools to help identify suspicious behaviour, duplicate or fraudulent listings, payment issues, account misuse, and moderation risks. Where an automated process significantly affects you, you may contact us to request review.
9. Access, Correction, and Deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, dispute, payment, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons.
